En bref

The course deals with a general survey of nuclear fuels, giving basics of physical properties, irradiation effects during normal and off-normal conditions, for both GenIII and GenIV reactors. Modelling approach and challenges for the future are also presented.

A qui s’adresse cette formation ?

The doctoral course is designed for young researchers, PhD students, post-doctorates and engineers from nuclear industry companies, research centres, Universities, Technical Safety Organizations (TSO), regulatory bodies.

Compétences visées

• Describe the design and the fabrication of the nuclear fuels.
• Describe the fuel thermal and mechanical behaviour in reactor operation (mainly temperature and irradidation effects).
Identify the main limiting phenomena (for safety and design).
