Ab initio description of light nuclei fusion reactions
Nuclear physicsTheoretical physics
Abstract
Reactions involving light nuclei are crucial to understanding the formation of our universe, the very first moments after the Big Bang being characterized by the formation of Hydrogen, Helium and Lithium. Fundamental understanding of these processes, involving fusion or charged particle reactions with light nuclei, is also interwoven with current application issues, such as the energies of the future.
The primary expectations of the postdoctorate are the production of total and differential cross sections, as well as reaction rates, for the reactions envisaged. Time permitting, the DT reaction will also be considered.
